This Being Highly Sensitive

I’ve been wanting to write something about being highly sensitive for a very long time. Anyone who knows me has probably heard (several times!) about my wish to write a book on the subject.

I am beyond keen for anyone who is highly sensitive and doesn’t know it to find out. And for those who already do to find out more about it. So they can unapologetically live their lives as their fully sensitive selves.

I say “they” but I am a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) myself … and proud of it. Which wasn’t always the case before I knew there was such a thing, and I came to understand, embrace and celebrate it.

Anyway, back to the writing. The universe works in mysterious ways. Six weeks into my Retirement as a counsellor, the R word became Recovery … from a broken ankle.

Having never broken a bone before, I broke three in one go! So, I was well and truly stopped in my tracks.

If I hadn’t been, I’d still be in my thinking/never quite writing loop. Instead, needing distraction, I came across two people (Kylie Slavik & Richard Taubinger) passionate about getting things that matter out into the world.

They tell you all you need to know to launch a business or give new life to one.

Having retired as a counsellor, I don’t want another business. But Kylie’s and Richard’s enthusiasm, ideas and encouragement prompted me to take action and put this website together. Thank you both!

I’m delighted to have done something, at last. I really didn’t want to lose the chance to pass on what I’ve learned from working with so many highly sensitive people.

I hope the website is a helpful source of information and can validate your experience and way of being.

Who knew that what I needed to get me moving was a broken ankle! If I do go on to write a book, I really hope there’s an easier way to get started!!
